What is Advanced Pre-authorization Transaction?

This feature enables Health insurance company to send the Advanced Authorization (Approval) to the healthcare providers without receiving an authorization request. This transaction is initiated by HIC for specific scenarios. 

For example, a patient visited to one healthcare provider “A” to avail any service which is not available. In that case, healthcare provider “A” will do transfer of care (referral out) to another healthcare provider “B”. Now, respected insurance company will send authorization request response to healthcare provider “B” in a form of Advanced Pre Authorization.
